Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist

Join our team as a Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist in Plantation, FL. You will function as a member of a cardiac team, assisting physicians and nurses in the operating room during cardiac surgical procedures. You will prepare the operating room, manage specialized cardiac instrumentation, and provide intraoperative support to ensure patient safety and efficient case flow.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent certified surgical technologist credential.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years current experience in an acute Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting, with demonstrated ability to scrub assist in open heart cases.
• Experience with open heart instrumentation and procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and pacemaker cases.
• Ability to function under direction of OR nursing staff and assist surgeon before, during, and after surgery according to clinical standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with laser lead extractions, endovascular procedures, and standby for TVAR and mitral clip cases.
• Experience with minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
• Ability to provide relief across service lines including vascular, robotics, general, ortho, neuro/spine, urology, podiatry, thoracic, and plastic surgery.

Assignment Details

• Shift Hours: 06:4515:15.
• Call requirements: on-call rotation required; approximately every other day and every other weekend.
• Patient ratio typical: 2:1 in CVOR.
