Adjunct Faculty members play acritical role in student learning by implementing effective pedagogical practices, fostering an engagingclassroom environment, and supporting student success. Role and Responsibilities D eliver engaging, student-centered instruction usingevidence-based pedagogical practices, including active learning,differentiated instruction, and technology-enhanced learning. Develop and i mplement course materials that align withinstitutional and accreditation standards, ensuring measurablestudent learning outcomes. Utilize active learning strategies, discussions, group work, andhands-on experiences to promote deep understanding and criticalthinking. Foster a supportive learning environment that respects allbackgrounds and learning styles, providing academic guidance andmentorship. Utilize formative and summative assessments to measure studentprogress, providing timely and constructive feedback to supportstudent development. Effectively integrate educational technologies and the LearningManagement System (LMS) to enhance instructional delivery. Stay current with pedagogical innovations, educationaltechnologies, and disciplinary advancements through professionaldevelopment opportunities Encourage curiosity, exploration, and independent thinking amongstudents through challenging assignments and discussions. Adhere to institutional policies, accreditation requirements, and academic integrity standards while maintaining accurate records ofstudent performance. Clearly communicate course objectives, expectations, gradingcriteria, and assessment methods to students at the beginning ofthe course. Serve as a mentor to students, offering guidance on assignments,research projects, internships, graduate school applications, andprofessional development opportunities. Engage in self-reflection on teaching practices, seek feedbackfrom students, colleagues, and instructional support services, andcontinuously improve teaching effectiveness. Participate in student success initiatives and retention effortsas appropriate. Attend professional development sessions, department meetings,and other official college functions when invited. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements Degrees must align with the Academic Faculty QualificationsPolicy and accreditation requirements for the specificprogram. Work experience required will be in accordance with the AcademicFaculty Qualifications Policy; three years of industry-related workexperience is preferred; prior college-level teaching experience isa plus. Demonstrated expertise in program-specific knowledge andskills. Required Skills Demonstrated strong proficiency in both written and spoken communication, effectively conveying ideas and information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior in interactions with students, colleagues, and the broader academic community. Demonstrated understanding of and a commitment to the college mission and purpose, teaching and learning, high academic standards, and student success. Possess strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. Demonstrated expertise in pedagogical practices that support student learning and success. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Knowledgeable and proficient in computer skills, which allows for the use of computer-related technology. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. The Running Start class will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2:15-3:00 PM Beginning August 24th-December 13th We are seeking a qualified candidate to teach in the field of psychology who holds a Master's degree in psychology or an acceptable subfield. Acceptable subfields include general psychology, educational psychology, clinical psychology, social psychology, experimental psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, human relations, counseling (including marriage and family therapy and educational counseling), human development, or social work. Alternatively, candidates with a Master's degree in another discipline must have completed at least 18 graduate semester hours in psychology to be considered.
