We embrace unique perspectives and empower each person to grow through professional development, career training and mentoring programs.Our people are our most important asset, and we are very proud of the quality of our team members.AVP, North American Programs DivisionLocation: Preferred location is Farmington, CT but we are open to New jersey, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, and HoustonJob Summary:Responsible for underwriting a portion of the AW Program P&C business, employing the methods necessary to meet projected profitability, expense goals, premium growth while simultaneously executing proper underwriting discipline/guidelines, marketing and servicing of existing and potential clients.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Core Underwriting FunctionsOverall management of Program assigned to including but not limited to underwriting referrals, pricing analysis, underwriting audits, PML and aggregation monitoring, data feed review and relationship management of Program AdministratorEvaluate and respond to referrals in a timely manner by analyzing coverage, exposures and pricingWork with management in setting and meeting budgeted premiums for assigned ProgramWork to achieve profitability on assigned ProgramRelationship Management & ComplianceLiaise with Claims Department on any specific claims activity on individual accounts, which could potentially affect profitabilityAssure Program Administrator is compliant with all underwriting and administrative guidelinesMarketing & Business DevelopmentMarketing – attend client/broker meetings, lunches, dinners and other social outings as applicableAssist team in vetting new Program opportunitiesProfessional Development & ReportingAttend training sessions and conferences when deemed appropriateAssist with special projects as needed under supervision of managementFollow treaty and facultative reinsurance protocols as requiredStay current with respect to major industry issues and developmentsProvide specific reports as needed by senior staffOther duties as assignedQualifications:College DegreeMinimum of 8-12 years underwriting experienceStrong Verbal and Written Communication and Interpersonal SkillsExcellent organizational skills, and ability to multi taskAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, high pressure environmentMust be able to think originally, be willing to challenge ideas and be receptive to having their own ideas challengedWillingness to travelThe salary range for this role is between:$130,000 - $160,000The below annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below he listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but now limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one compensation of Allied World comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.
