Electrician Location: Montgomery & Tuskegee, AL Company: Loyal Source Government Services Pay Rate: $39.55 / hour Duration: Up to 12 months, contingent upon contract award Loyal Source is seeking skilled Electricians to support the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) at the Montgomery and Tuskegee campuses . Duties Install new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment. Install secondary power distribution lines and circuits supplying a wide range of voltages. Perform maintenance on industrial multiphase systems, thermocouple sensors, intrusion alarm systems, fire alarm systems, emergency warning systems, and lightning protection systems. Troubleshoot and repair hard-to-locate electrical defects and system malfunctions. Determine placement and installation of distribution panels, boxes, fittings, connections, and wiring. Calculate resistance, inductance, capacitance, power factor, current flow, voltage drop, and related electrical properties. Operate testing equipment including signal generators, signal tracers, and oscilloscopes. Use electrical measuring instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, ohmmeters, and meggers. Identify and work with electronic components including resistors, capacitors, and transistors. Apply trade formulas to calculate voltage, current capability, and other electrical circuit requirements. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an electrician. Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. occasionally . Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Ability to work in temperatures exceeding 100°F . Ability to work in noisy environments and wear required hearing protection. Ability to work around potentially hazardous materials and conditions, including chemicals, oils, fumes, dirt, grease, and machinery. Ability to wear and safely work while using an OSHA-approved respirator and pass fit testing requirements. Ability to stand, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods. Must possess or be willing to obtain OSHA 30 Certification .
