The HCA Graduate Medical Education (GME) program sponsors more than 370 residency and fellowship training programs across more than 90 hospitals, while the Research Institute (HRI) supports clinical research across 50+ sites. The Controller for Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Healthcare Research Institute (HRI) will provide financial operations oversight and leadership for the entire GME and HRI enterprise. This role manages a team of financial directors, managers, and analysts and works closely with Division CFOs, Hospital CFOs, GME Leadership, and CSG Leadership to develop strategy, manage budgets, and ensure financial sustainability. Responsibilities Supervise and develop a team of Group Directors, Managers, senior financial analysts and business analysts. Develop and maintain financial reporting packages and continuously improve financial reporting processes. Evaluate GME & HRI program economics and strategy for sustainability and optimization. Provide analytical and decision‑support services for operating activities, including interpretation of financial trends and forecasts. Prepare monthly analysis, reporting on financial statements, and annual projections and budgets for high‑growth, high‑complexity service lines. Train hospital executives on the GME budget process and develop new processes for proper allocation of costs. Present to and collaborate with Division CFOs, Hospital CFOs, Controllers, and Accountants on financial initiatives concerning the GME & HRI service lines. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (required). Master’s Degree in Accounting (preferred). Experience Five or more years of increasing financial responsibilities in a leadership role, preferably in healthcare. Prior supervisory experience. Project management experience strongly preferred. Senior experience in a Big 4 audit environment is a plus. Demonstrated potential, personality, and past experience. Software Advanced Excel and database usage (required). Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Business Objects, HOST (General Ledger), and MicroStrategy (desired).
