Role Description: AR Specialist, also known as an Accounts Receivable Specialist, is responsible for managing a company's outstanding customer invoices, ensuring timely payment collection by generating bills, following up on overdue accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records related to receivables, all while adhering to company policies and compliance regulations. Responsibilities Manage accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collections. Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate financial records and reports. Collaborate with the credit team to ensure limits and terms are met. Handle customer inquiries and resolve discrepancies related to payments. Perform data entry and maintain organized records of transactions and communications. Assist in posting checks, ACH, and credit card payments. Make outgoing collection calls to keep balances up to date. Qualifications Proficient in accounting and accounts receivable processes Strong understanding of financial concepts and GAAP Experience with accounting software Excellent negotiation and customer service skills Ability to perform data entry accurately and efficiently Organized and detail-oriented Multi-tasker Strong analytical skills to review aging reports, reconcile accounts, and identify discrepancies. Foundational knowledge of finance and accounting principles related to accounts receivable. Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with customers and internal stakeholders. Experience with debt collection practices that are ethical, compliant, and customer-focused. Proficiency in invoicing processes, including billing, payment application, and documentation. Experience with ERP or accounting software and intermediate MS Excel skills. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work collaboratively on-site and maintain a customer service-oriented mindset. Previous experience in accounts receivable or a related finance role preferred. Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is a plus.
