Payroll Manager Full Time 30-39 Hour DATA CENTRUM COMMUNICATIONS, INC., Montvale, NJ, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1048 Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $95,000.00 Annually Position Summary Health Monitor Network is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Payroll Manager to own end-to-end payroll operations, along with company expense and reimbursement management, for the organization. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this individual contributor role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for all employees, as well as administering the company's expense management platform (Ramp), while partnering closely with Finance, HR, and outside vendors and auditors. This is a great fit for a payroll professional who enjoys owning the full payroll and expense function directly rather than managing a team, and who takes pride in accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls. Key Responsibilities Process and manage end-to-end multi-state payroll on a recurring cycle, ensuring accuracy and on-time payment for all employees. Administer and maintain the timekeeping system (ADP), reviewing time data and timesheets for accuracy before each pay cycle. Maintain and audit payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, salary changes, garnishments, deductions, and benefits contributions. Ensure compliance with federal, state (including New Jersey), and local payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and reporting requirements. Work closely with HR to ensure proper employee classification (exempt/non-exempt). Administer the payroll system and serve as the primary point of contact for the payroll vendor, resolving discrepancies and system issues. Onboard new employees into the expense management platform (Ramp). Prepare commission accruals and commission statements for the sales team. Prepare payroll, benefits, payroll accrual, and commission accrual journal entries. Partner with HR on benefits administration, 401(k) contributions, leave-of-absence pay, and other payroll-adjacent programs. Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholdings with professionalism and discretion. Support internal and external audits by preparing payroll, expense, and related reports as requested. Identify and implement process improvements to increase payroll efficiency and internal controls. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee, payroll, and financial data at all times. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing; prior payroll ownership experience strongly preferred. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred, not required. Strong working knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday, UKG, or similar platforms). Solid understanding of federal and state payroll tax regulations and wage and hour compliance. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (SUMIF/SUMIFS, XLOOKUP, COUNTIFS, TEXT and DATE functions, Pivot Tables, Conditional formatting, IFERROR) Comfort working within general ledger/ERP systems. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication skills and sound judgment in handling confidential information. Self-starter capable of independently managing the payroll function with minimal oversight. This role follows a hybrid work model, with three (3) days per week required on-site at Health Monitor Network's headquarters in Montvale, NJ, and up to two (2) days per week available for remote work.
