Finance Lead

Our client is a fast-growing, technology-forward service company based in Farmington, Michigan. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations, specifically managing a small team handling accounts receivable and accounts payable. You will step into a stable, well-supported position (smooth transition with the current lead leaving on excellent terms) and play a direct part in maintaining strong financial controls while supporting overall company growth. Key Responsibilities Lead, develop, and mentor a team of two in AR and AP functions, driving accountability, performance, and professional growth. Oversee full-cycle accounts receivable: invoicing, collections, dispute resolution, and cash flow management. Manage accounts payable processes: vendor invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and vendor relationships. Support month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and cash flow analysis for leadership. Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and other teams to ensure billing accuracy and provide financial insights. Identify and implement process improvements and technology enhancements for greater efficiency. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and other strategic initiatives as the company continues to expand. Qualifications 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance with strong hands‑on AR and AP expertise. Prior supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred. Proficiency with accounting platforms (QuickBooks, Odoo, or similar) and advanced Excel skills. Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication abilities. Experience in service, logistics, distribution, or operations‑heavy industries is a plus. Strong cultural fit: mature, hardworking, accountable, and comfortable in a young, dynamic, in‑office environment.
