Sr Solution Architect, VMWare

Role Description

Connection's Technical Solutions Division has a fantastic opportunity for a Sr. Solution Architect – Digital Workspace! This highly visible, client-facing role combines deep technical expertise with strong consultative sales and solution-selling skills to help customers achieve their business and technology objectives.

• Drive sales growth of advanced technology solutions and services for all Connection business units through advanced pre-sales technical consulting, solutions design, and services scoping.
• Assess, qualify, design, and present technology solutions of highly advanced levels of complexity to clients.
• Collaborate with other pre-sales roles across the Technology Solutions Sales group.
• Maintain a pulse on the information technology industry and support the COE Director in making recommendations to senior leadership.
• Create and deliver sellable solutions based on requirements gathering, data collection, and documented design activities.
• Design advanced solutions that serve the functional and technical requirements of the client.
• Assist in the development of new professional and managed services offerings.
• Support targeting sales into new accounts and expanding penetration in existing accounts.
• Develop and build out Connection’s physical and cloud-based labs.
• Support COE- and PM-driven organizational compliance efforts by earning and maintaining vendor certifications.
• May assist with delivery of professional services, remote or on-site.

Qualifications

• VMware VCF 9 Architect VCP or VCF 9 Administrator certifications and VCF 9 Proven Professional required.
• An understanding of leading manufacturers routing and switching architecture.
• Experience with storage and virtualization products from leading manufacturers.
• Demonstrates an understanding of Converged Infrastructure concepts and the benefits that Cloud solutions provide.
• Verifiably successful professional solutions selling experience with customer-facing salesmanship proficiency.
• Excellent time management and prioritization with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Team orientation with ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Possesses integrity to do the right thing by Connection and the client.
• Keen appreciation of business and technical requirements.
• Requires an acute understanding of both the technology and business objectives of the client.
• Relevant working knowledge and understanding of advanced technology solutions including Data Center/IaaS, Compute, Storage and Fabrics, Enterprise Networking, Security, Multi-Cloud and PaaS, Virtualization and Containers, Modern Applications, Collaboration/UCaaS, and End-User Computing.
• Ability to demonstrate advanced and/or expert-level operational competencies in multiple technology areas.
• Advanced VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0 Certification (VCAP) (Storage and/or Networking) preferred.
