Quality Technician

Quality Assurance InspectorAssist in maintaining the effectiveness and compliance of the OCC QMS to relevant customer and regulatory (ISO) requirements. Determine compliance of products and purchased materials to all applicable OCC and Customer requirementsPerforms specific job responsibilities:Assist with evaluation and testing of purchased materials at receiving and accept into ERP systemInterface with Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing to help resolve nonconformance issues with purchased materialsAssist Quality in developing necessary receiving inspection sampling plans, procedures, and work instructionsAssist Quality to review supplier certificates of compliance or test reports to determine validityAssist Sales and Manufacturing to investigate customer complaints and analyze customer returned materialAssist Quality in performing calibration of required gages, quality inspection tools, and test equipmentPerform ISO internal auditor functions as requiredRecognize defects and problems that arise during the production of OCC productsEvaluate data to validate compliance or identify deviations from existing standardsComplete detailed documentation and reports of all Inspection activities following OCC policy and customer-specified requirementsComplete Defective Material / Non-conforming Material notices and coordinate disposition of affected materialSupport the implementation of data collection projectsAssist Quality in Documentation and Data Control ProcessAssist Quality in the Corrective and Preventive Action ProcessMaintain the SCORE Board statistical and trend dataPromotes OCC's service excellence and quality. Provides excellent service to customers; builds strong relationships and team cohesiveness; focuses on quality and positive solutions; communicates respectfully; demonstrates compassion and understanding in response to customer requests/needs.Champions OCC's mission, vision, and values (as detailed in our 15 Essential Points of Success); complies with policies and procedures, ethical standards and Code of Conduct.Minimum Qualifications Required:Education: Technical degree or equivalent on-the-job technical training.Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a Quality Assurance / Control Inspection process.Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: NoneOther Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:Computer experience and skill with Microsoft Office, including Word and ExcelFamiliarity with Quality Assurance/Control practicesKnowledge of calibration/metrology practicesFamiliarity with calipers, micrometers, and optical test equipmentPreferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Familiarity with ISO 9001 requirementsKnowledge of ISO audit practices/techniquesKnowledge of data collection methodology and statistical analysis techniquesWorking Conditions:Manufacturing area environment. This is a quality position that requires a sight sufficient for computer use and significant detail for inspection. This position also requires an individual with hearing sufficient for telephone contact with employees and management as well as relaying messages accurately. There are significant computer input/data entry duties that require sufficient manual dexterity for handling small fiber optic products, tools, and instruments.
