LTL Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented LTL Logistics Coordinator to join our client's team in Katy, TX. You will manage the daily operations of Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments, from securing quotes and booking carriers to tracking freight and auditing final invoices. Your main goal is to optimize our trailer space, lower shipping costs, and ensure on-time deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Freight Booking & Dispatch: Route daily LTL shipments, select optimal carriers, and generate accurate Bills of Lading (BOLs) and shipping labels.
• Rate Quoting & Negotiation: Request freight quotes and negotiate competitive spot rates with carrier networks to minimize shipping costs.
• Shipment Tracking & Visibility: Monitor cargo movement using our Transportation Management System (SMC3, project44, or equivalent TMS).
• Issue Resolution: Handle transit delays, missed pickups, and carrier service failures, providing proactive updates to internal teams and clients.
• Freight Auditing: Review carrier invoices against original quotes to identify and dispute billing discrepancies or unauthorized accessorial fees.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience in LTL logistics, freight brokerage, or supply chain operations.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of NMFC freight classifications, density-based pricing, and carrier accessorial charges (e.g., liftgate, residential delivery).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience using a TMS or digital load boards.
• Core Competencies: Excellent problem-solving abilities, sharp negotiation skills, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required
