Job Description
Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Emergency Room

Schedule

Weekend Blocked, D/N rotational position, Holidays/On-Call/Callback/Charge per unit needs. 48 hours/week only.

Assignment Details

Full-time position with 48 hours/week commitment.

Requirements

• New York State RN License
• BLS Certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Telemetry experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients, making nursing diagnoses of their medical and emotional status.
• Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer psychotropic drugs and other medications, noting patient reactions.
• Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and the need for treatment while maintaining a safe environment.
• Document all patient information on medical charts in accordance with physician's orders.
