What if your next move in Public Accounting actually made your life better?
6 months ago, I helped a Tax Director join this firm. They'd come from a similarly sized practice where the culture was poor, the hours were relentless and busy season seemed to last all year.
A few months in, they're loving it. Same level of responsibility, a completely different working environment.
And now, I'm helping the firm find another Tax Director.
This is a privately owned, 90 person Miami CPA firm that's managed to build something pretty rare in Public Accounting. A successful business where people actually enjoy working, the Partners know their teams and having a life outside of tax isn't treated like some outrageous request.
No Private Equity involvement. No plans for it, either.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
- Busy season hours of 45 to 55 per week, with 55 being the maximum rather than the expectation.
- Hybrid working and proper flexibility. School runs, family commitments, appointments... nobody's watching the clock if your work is getting done.
- An annual Bahamas cruise for you and a plus one, fully paid.
- Full Christmas and New Year shutdown, plus additional time off around April 15th, July 4th and Thanksgiving.
- Generous PTO, health, dental and vision insurance, 401k match and twice yearly bonuses.
- New business commissions and referral bonuses.
The opportunity
As Tax Director, you'll work closely with the Partners, oversee a broad portfolio of clients and play an important role in shaping the future of the tax practice.
You'll have the autonomy to manage client relationships, advise on complex tax matters, develop the team and contribute to the firm's continued growth. Partner is on the table for the right person too.
They're looking for an experienced Public Accounting professional who enjoys generalist tax work, building relationships and leading people. A CPA is welcomed, but isn't required.
If you're already operating at Director level, you know how demanding Public Accounting can be. But there's a difference between working hard and having work take over your life.
