We are looking for an experienced Personal Injury Attorney capable of managing cases across all phases of litigation—from case assessment and pleadings to discovery, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation. You will collaborate directly with Managing Attorney Lewis W. Duong while taking primary ownership of a select portfolio of litigation files.

This role begins as part-time , ideal for a seasoned practitioner seeking flexibility, maintaining an independent caseload, or scaling back full-time hours, with a direct trajectory toward full-time employment as firm capacity expands.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation & Case Handling

• Manage a portfolio of personal injury cases (motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, catastrophic injuries) through the litigation process.
• Draft pleadings, law and motion filings (including opposition/demurrers, motions to compel, and summary judgment motions), and appellate briefs when required.
• Make court appearances in San Bernardino County and surrounding Inland Empire courts for hearings, case management conferences, and arbitrations.
  

Depositions & Settlement Strategy

• Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, expert witnesses, treating physicians, and investigating officers.
• Prepare comprehensive mediation briefs and represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and mandatory settlement conferences.
• Evaluate liability, coverage, damages, and medical evidence to formulate effective resolution strategies.
  

Client & Trial Leadership

• Conduct initial client intakes and render legal coverage/liability assessments.
• Work alongside firm staff and paralegals to oversee medical record reviews, lien negotiations, and trial exhibit preparation.
• Participate in jury selection, trial proceedings, or act as second-chair counsel for complex matters.
  

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensure: Active license to practice law in California in good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Experience: Minimum 3–5+ years of dedicated personal injury litigation experience (plaintiff or defense side).
• Skills: Demonstrated track record of taking and defending depositions, arguing contested motions, and achieving favorable settlement outcomes.
• Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with modern law practice management software (e.g., MyCase, Clio, Filevine), electronic court filing (e-Filing), and remote meeting platforms.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Trial Experience: Direct experience with first-chair or second-chair jury trials in California courts.
• Bilingual Ability: Fluency in Spanish or Vietnamese is highly valued.
• Local Knowledge: Experience practicing within San Bernardino County and Riverside County courts.
