Sanitation Coordinator

Salary Range: $54,100.00 To $62,200.00 Annually Position Summary The Sanitation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating sanitation activities, in accordance with our Safety Guidelines, to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, and company standards. This role supports the execution of sanitation programs, scheduling, documentation, training, and continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Operations teams. The Sanitation Coordinator helps ensure that sanitation activities are completed effectively and consistently across shifts to maintain a safe and audit-ready facility. Key Responsibilities Sanitation Operations Coordinate daily, weekly, and periodic sanitation activities. Monitor sanitation execution and compliance with established procedures. Support sanitation coverage and execution across multiple shifts. Assist in prioritizing sanitation tasks and resources. Verify completion of cleaning and sanitizing activities. All other duties as assigned. Food Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP, SQF/BRC (as applicable), FDA, OSHA, and company requirements. Support internal and external audits and inspections. Maintain sanitation records, logs, and compliance documentation. Assist in corrective action development and follow‑up activities. Scheduling & Coordination Coordinate sanitation labor schedules and work assignments. Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to support operational needs. Communicate sanitation priorities, concerns, and status updates to leadership. Support startup readiness and sanitation verification processes. Support onboarding and training of sanitation team members. Reinforce safety, food safety, and sanitation procedures. Provide guidance and coaching to sanitation employees. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to improve sanitation effectiveness and efficiency. Monitor sanitation performance metrics and trends. Assist with implementation of process improvements and corrective actions. Support waste reduction and operational excellence initiatives. Qualifications Education Experience 2–5 years of experience in food manufacturing, sanitation, quality, or related operations. Experience with food safety and sanitation programs preferred. Experience coordinating teams, schedules, or projects preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles. Understanding of GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to analyze data and maintain accurate records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and shifts. Physical Requirements Ability to work in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures and noise levels. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required by operational needs. Ability to wear required PPE and work around cleaning chemicals safely. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Audit readiness and audit results. Completion of sanitation schedules.
