Desired Qualifications:

• Must fulfill ONE of the following requirements:
  • Successfully pass the Minnesota Board Highly Qualified Para Exam
  • Hold a minimum of 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas not accepted)
• Experience as a paraprofessional in an educational setting is preferred
• Comfortable providing personal care, including assistance with toileting, as required for student support
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to various high school environments and support diverse learners
• Willingness to indicate preferred school site and map out commute/transportation options

Role Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers and special education staff in classroom instruction and individualized support
• Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere for students in assigned high school
• Assist students with special needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and engagement throughout the school day
• Provide personal care as needed, including toileting
• Support students across academic, behavioral, and social goals according to their individualized plans
• Collaborate with school teams and participate in relevant professional development

This position offers 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a pay rate of $20 per hour for the initial contract period. After completing approximately 90 days (or 422 hours), eligible candidates may be offered direct employment with the district.
