Finance Manager (Partial Remote) - Decision Support Analysis

Finance ManagerManages and assists the Director and/or Senior Finance Manager in financial and operational analysis activities with a complex functional or organizational scope. The manager will be able to assist in multiple activities at one time with minimum supervision.Assists the Director and/or Senior Finance Manager with department operations including departmental budget, staffing, and special projectsSupervises the coordination, preparation and analysis of complex financial and operational reports, financial statements, scorecards, metrics, benchmarks, budgets, and financial forecasts across multiple areasOversees and validates complex analysis of historical and projected financial and operational data to provide leadership information to make relevant financial decisionsManages and validates information to support developing trends that will inform forecasts and management decision makingIdentifies and utilizes technology and best practices to ensure continuous process improvementOversees the quality assurance functions of financial data and statistical informationRemains current with and progressively learns industry trends, analytical techniques and appropriate financial systems necessary to complete essential job functionsAdheres to internal controls and reporting structurePerforms related duties as assignedPossess and demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding, with progressive development, of financial statements and relationships, analytical techniques, operations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, practices, and proceduresProgressive development of the ability to analyze/evaluate dataMust possess excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively work and communicate with individuals at all levels of the institutionPossess advanced decision-making skillsStrong organizational and planning skillsEffective problem-solving skillsAbility to accomplish goalsDemonstrates a high degree of professionalismActively participates with Business and Finance colleagues in completing initiatives, goals and prioritiesDevelops productive relationships with UTMB personnel across campus while accomplishing institutional objectivesCPA and/or Masters' Degree in Business or related field is preferred.Experience in Health Systems and Academic Medicine is desirable.Pro forma and business plan developmentFinancial modeling and sensitivity analysesData analytics/ Data miningProficient in ExcelEPSi or Qlik experience a plus.Cost Accounting Principles as well as Hyperion, PeopleSoft, Action O/I, Strata, PBCS, Power BIActual salary commensurate with experience.Partial remote, three days working in office, two days working from home Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm and as needed on occasion.UTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
