The Department of Radiology at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence among its faculty, staff, and students. We are currently seeking full-time and part-time faculty members to join the Body Imaging Division. The health system includes two Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Centers, an NCI-designated Moores Comprehensive Cancer Center, a Level I Trauma and Burn Center, a Level IV Epilepsy Center, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and a Center of Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease. The UC San Diego Department of Radiology is one of the most innovative and productive academic departments in the country, offering state-of-the-art imaging services that support outstanding clinical care and forward-thinking research. The Body Imaging Division plays a central role in diagnosing and managing a wide range of conditions using advanced cross-sectional imaging, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy. Our radiologists work in close collaboration with referring clinicians across multiple specialties to provide timely, high-quality, and patient-centered interpretations. The selected candidates will contribute to our clinical, teaching, and research missions, with responsibilities that include interpreting abdominal and pelvic CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound studies. The selected candidates will also participate in educational and administrative activities, such as teaching fellows, residents, medical students, and visiting scholars, as well as contributing to tumor boards and other division initiatives. The Body Imaging Division is also committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance, including a hybrid work schedule. Faculty in this division do not perform invasive procedures. Candidates with a strong interest in becoming international leaders in abdominal and pelvic imaging are encouraged to apply. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. If appointed to a title covered by the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology.
