In-Community Supports - Mental Health Specialist II Wages for this role start at $21.00 Job Description We are seeking compassionate Mental Health Specialists to work with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnosis. The people we support may have behavioral or medical complexities and reside in an apartment‑style setting. What You Get to Do Provide hands‑on and/or verbal assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance. Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve. Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, while fostering independence. Maintain a clean, safe space that supports individuals in reaching their personal goals. Provide supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to help individuals achieve their aspirations. Build relationships with persons served and teammates. Attend community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events. Work on tailored outcomes for individuals and implement behavioral guidance plans as needed. Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home. Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest. Document progress, milestones, and action steps. Qualifications 18 years or older; at least 21 years old to work in child foster care homes. Minimum three years’ experience working with persons exhibiting aggressive behaviors or self‑injurious behaviors. Prefer experience with persons who have intellectual or developmental disabilities. Experience with mental health/illness is preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; proof of license required. Current auto liability insurance. Basic computer skills for documentation. Ability to perform personal care tasks. Strong communication skills for documenting care, following support plans, and collaborating with team members.
