Posting Title: Project Manager Reports To: Project Executive Location: Greater San Francisco Bay Area Base Salary Range: $140,000 to $180,000 Annual Performance Bonus: Position eligible for annual performance bonus plan. Work Location: Position primarily involves working on-site at the project location or in office. Travel frequency and duration will vary depending on role and project timeline. About the Role As a Construction Project Manager at Cupertino Electric, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of complex construction projects and/or complex scopes of work on capital projects. You will manage the planning, execution, and financial performance of your projects/scopes using business practices consistent with our company values. Responsibilities Ownership and financial outcome of the assigned project or project scopes. Coordinate daily/weekly meetings with area superintendents and project engineers to develop project means/methods, schedule contracting needs, and long‑lead delivery times. Review project estimates and plans to determine estimated job cost, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation for various phases. Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates; review, approve, and negotiate change orders. Plan, coordinate, and supervise activities of both company and subcontractor personnel on assigned project and/or project scopes. Form and lead an effective project management team, define and delegate management responsibilities, and set goals. Resolve unexpected technical difficulties and other problems in a timely fashion. Serve as subject matter expert for your project and/or project scopes. Lead and communicate with department leads and project personnel regarding work scopes. Ensure project superintendents understand and execute work as required by client/project specifications. Maintain safety, quality, and production standards. Handle project closeout: secure loose ends, finish paperwork, obtain retainages, support supervisors, and expedite claims. Represent CEI culturally by engaging in company functions and building relationships. Scope, Complexity, Discretion, Interaction, Supervision Scope: Receive assignments with objectives and provide direction to employees according to policies. Complexity: Analyze situations requiring review of relevant factors; exercise judgment within defined procedures. Discretion: Decisions or failures can cause schedule delays. Interaction: Frequently interact with subordinate supervisors and functional peer groups to gain cooperation; conduct presentations of technical information. Supervision: Provide direct supervision to professional and skilled support contributors; act as advisor and resolve problems to meet schedules. About You Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction technology, equipment, methods, union jurisdiction, labor agreements, and negotiations. Strong business acumen. Ability to manage projects and/or scopes from $15M to $30M. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred. Licensure/Certifications: None required. Experience: Typically requires 5+ years of related experience managing infrastructure projects such as water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, tunnels, transit, aviation systems, etc. Including client interface, solicitation, planning, execution, project delivery, and staff supervision. Driving Record: Valid state‑issued driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Position not eligible for sponsorship.
