About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Charting system experience required (Epic) - Travel experience required Description: Unit has a weekend requirement of every other weekend. No call is required. Floating may occur within the facility and is within scope of practice. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Compliance with all requirements is necessary for timely start. If one major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays occur, the traveler must work both. Three holidays will require the traveler to work two of them. Daily patient census is approximately 22. The unit sees around 25 visits per day. There are 22 rooms and beds available. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, and social services. The daily staffing ratio on days is 6 patients per nurse. Overall, this is a skilled nursing position focused on medical surgical care.
