Oncology Nurse - Mixed Acuity PCU and Medical-Surgical Unit Experience Requirements Minimum of 1 year inpatient hematology oncology experience in medical-surgical and telemetry units is required. Chemotherapy certification is mandatory. Patient Diagnoses Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Adult) Amyloidosis Aplastic Anemia Chronic Leukemia Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia Hodgkin's Lymphoma Multiple Myeloma Myelodysplastic Syndrome Myeloproliferative Disorders Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Special Procedures and Unit Details Autologous Transplants: Patients receive their own stem cells. Syngeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from an identical twin. Allogeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from a sibling, parent, or unrelated donor. CAR-T Therapy Required Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification Preferred Certifications Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Computerized Charting Experience with EPIC electronic health records is required. Required Skills Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation Utilization of Rapid Response Teams Feeding tube care and management Blood product administration Central line blood draws Peripheral line care and management PICC line management Nasal cannula oxygen administration Central line sterile dressing changes Chemotherapy administration Shift Details Accepting 12-hour day/night rotating contracts. Shift assignments may include days, nights, or a combination, based on departmental needs. Schedules are reviewed every 4 weeks; however, changes are not guaranteed and depend on staffing priorities.
