Estimator

Aegis is partnered with a fourth-generation, family-owned manufacturer that has been in business for over 100 years and specializes in custom steel tanks and engineered industrial equipment. They are looking to add a Tank Estimator to support their custom, engineered-to-order tank business. This is a technical, customer-facing role combining estimating with sales. You'll work with customers to understand their applications, review drawings and specifications, and develop custom quotes from the ground up. Responsibilities Manage 5–10+ active quoting opportunities at a time Review drawings, dimensions, materials, fabrication requirements, and customer specifications Build technical estimates and quotes for custom-fabricated tanks Work directly with customers to gather missing information and understand their applications Follow up on existing and inbound opportunities and develop customer relationships Work with internal engineering/manufacturing teams to determine project requirements Occasionally visit customers throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin Requirements 2+ years of technical sales, estimating, or project-based manufacturing experience Ability to read technical drawings and specifications Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of custom-fabricated products Customer-facing experience with strong communication skills Metal fabrication, welding, tanks, or pressure vessel experience is a plus ASME, API, UL, or similar code knowledge is a plus This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of manufacturing but also wants to build customer relationships and grow into sales. #J-18808-Ljbffr
