If you’re passionate about joining a community that challenges the curious to deliver work that matters, your journey starts here!The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) is seeking a Contract Analyst to join the team.OVPR has responsibility for nurturing interdisciplinary research initiatives at one of the nations' leading research institutions. OVPR provides overall research administration and policy for all colleges and schools, as well as the university's more than 100 centers and institutes. Working closely with deans, department heads, faculty, students and staff, the office provides an innovative and supportive research environment that spans all disciplines and campuses and assures that research activities are planned and conducted in accordance with regulations and University policy.The position is responsible for providing professional level support in the areas of preparation, monitoring, tracking, and negotiation of agreements. You will work on agreements that may include subcontracts, license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, visitor agreements, data use agreements, amendments, and others as assigned.Responsibilities:Assisting Contracts Officers with negotiating various agreements to include non-disclosure agreements, subcontract agreements, license agreements and other agreements.Assist other functional units within the Office of Sponsored Programs with processing proposals, awards and subcontracts.Assist senior staff with negotiation of research related agreements as well as with the preparation of any other necessary and/or requested documents, materials or information.Collect relevant information from faculty, other internal stakeholders and/or other parties to ensure that agreements accurately reflect the nature of the desired collaborations and address relevant legal and/or compliance issues.Documenting and monitoring the contract negotiation lifecycle including updating the departmental contract management system and status of agreements.Reviewing legal and contractual agreements to distill contractual terms into actionable data to follow university policies and relevant laws.Identify issues for approval by various internal compliance partners, and shepherd agreements through approval process.Fostering relationships with stakeholders by participating in discussions with, and providing education to business managers, technical staff, and other internal departments on relevant issues.Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University.
