Active Directory Engineer

Active Directory Engineer This is an engineering position, not an operations or administrator position. Engineer is expected to have hands on experience building, configuring and managing active directory domain controllers in a highly complex environment. The Active Directory senior engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining enterprise-level Active Directory (AD) environments. This role ensures secure, scalable, and compliant identity and access management across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Deploy and manage Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, group policies, and organizational units. Deploy and manage 14 applications supporting Active Directory. Update software and configurations to address vulnerabilities. Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex AD issues, including authentication, replication, and access control. Develop, update and enforce security standards for AD, including privileged access management and audit logging. Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and application teams to integrate AD with enterprise systems and cloud platforms. Maintain documentation and provide technical guidance for AD operations and best practices. Participate in compliance reviews and risk assessments related to identity and access management. Manage workload in Jira using Agile principles. Required Qualifications: Extensive experience with Active Directory administration in large enterprise environments. Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Group Policy, DNS, and related technologies. Proven ability to design and implement secure AD architectures. Experience with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell preferred). Familiarity with IAM frameworks, privileged access management, and compliance requirements. Preferred Skills: Experience with Azure AD, hybrid identity solutions, and cloud integrations. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership. Experience with Microsoft HyperV Management. Must Haves: 5 plus years Active Directory Engineering Power Shell Scripting Experience with Domain Controller Virtualization. Experience building domain controllers Experience with Domain Controller Management/Administration Experience using Jira Experience working in Agile environment. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Information Security Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables.
