Research Lab Technician

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Position Type: Long Term Contract Position Overview We are world‑class experts in plant breeding and biotechnology seeking a motivated Research Laboratory Technician to join the Agriscience Biotechnology team. This position directly supports a cutting‑edge research team dedicated to developing and evaluating novel plant breeding methods. Working under the guidance of a supervisor, the successful candidate will support plant tissue culture research activities and coordinate closely with various team members to achieve project milestones. Key Responsibilities Assist with creating, executing, and scoring results to meet research team needs. This includes processing samples under sterile lab conditions, as well as measuring, imaging, and analyzing experimental data. Execute plant tissue culture workflows, including aspects of plant transformation and plant propagation. Conduct analytical assays on plant tissue samples as required. Document precise experimental details, analyze data, interpret results, and record pertinent information accurately into proprietary and standard software applications. Maintain a safe, clean work environment by strictly utilizing aseptic and sterile techniques. Coordinate sampling and sample preparation efforts across the team. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience). Industry‑related experience is preferred. Technical Skills: Plant transformation experience in either a classroom or industry setting is highly desirable. Comfort with utilizing proprietary and standard software for data entry. Core Competencies: Strong problem‑solving skills, excellent written/verbal communication, and sharp organizational abilities. Work Style: High attention to detail with the ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks.
