Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Hematology/Oncology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year of inpatient hematology oncology experience. License: Valid compact or state nursing license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification required. Must-Have: Experience with leukemia, blood dyscrasias, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma within the last 3 years. Description: This is a registered nurse position specializing in hematology and oncology. The unit primarily cares for patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants. Experience in administering chemotherapy and managing patients with various hematologic malignancies is essential. The role involves telemetry monitoring and the interpretation of dysrhythmias. Nurses will be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. A heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety is required. The successful candidate must possess skills in blood product administration and central line management. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and manage complex patient needs. Experience in utilizing computerized charting systems is mandatory, with EPIC familiarity preferred. Candidates must adhere to strict compliance guidelines and credentialing processes.
