Job Title: Low Voltage Technician

Job Description

We are seeking two skilled Low Voltage Technicians to join our team and perform low voltage electrical installations in Newport News, focusing primarily on access controls and security camera installations. This position requires DCJS certification and is based at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, VA. The ideal candidates will have significant experience with access control systems, troubleshooting, and customer-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform installations of access controls, security cameras, and related hardware.
• Troubleshoot access control systems at Riverside Hospital.
• Ensure all work complies with low voltage electrical standards.
• Interact with clients and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain reliable transportation for site visits and installations.
• Collaborate with team members on long-term projects.

Essential Skills

• DCJS certification or willingness to become certified.
• Low voltage experience with access controls and security systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction experience.
• 2+ years of experience pulling wire, installing, and terminating CAT 5/6 cables.
• Experience with multi-meters, security camera systems, and access controls.
• Commercial or marine experience required.

Work Environment

The role involves working independently at various job sites, primarily at Riverside Hospital. The standard work hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. You'll be part of a collaborative team, yet much of the work will be done independently, requiring self-motivation and accountability

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
