Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, employing standardized tests and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans addressing immediate goals and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver individual speech therapy interventions focusing on communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing improvement.
- Work in tandem with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, medical doctors, caregivers, and families to formulate unified care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families to promote ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Facilitate occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatment, assuring a seamless continuity of care throughout the recovery trajectory.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation complying with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
- Engage in continuing education and peer networking to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist .
- Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
- Excellence in evidence-based treatment modalities for varied age groups, alongside a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills that foster effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to modify therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic considerations.
