Quality Assurance Tech III

Our Client is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician III to join their growing manufacturing team. This senior-level quality professional will play a critical role in ensuring machined components and assemblies meet customer specifications, industry requirements, and internal quality standards. This position serves as a technical expert in quality inspection, metrology, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with Engineering and Production to drive world-class quality performance. Responsibilities Perform advanced dimensional inspections of machined components using precision measuring equipment, including CMMs, optical comparators, height gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other metrology tools. Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, specifications, and customer documentation. Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 and customer-specific requirements. Develop, review, and maintain inspection plans, control plans, and quality documentation. Support PPAP submissions and customer qualification activities. Lead root cause investigations and corrective action efforts for nonconforming products. Assist with calibration and maintenance of inspection and measurement equipment. Mentor and train junior quality technicians and production personnel on quality standards and inspection techniques. Participate in internal, external, and customer audits, including ISO 9001 and AS9100 audits. Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and defect prevention. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company quality procedures. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T. Hands‑on experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs). Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems. Knowledge of SPC, PPAP, First Article Inspection, root cause analysis, and corrective action methodologies. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, and quality‑related software. Preferred Associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field. 7+ years of quality assurance experience in a precision machining environment. Experience with PC‑DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or similar CMM programming and inspection software. Aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.
