Enhance Lives Through Communication in Beautiful Spokane, Washington – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career that inspires heartfelt connections and profound changes — literally! As a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist in Spokane, a city renowned for its breathtaking views and vibrant community life, your efforts will reach far beyond just addressing communication and swallowing disorders. Here, you'll have the chance to unlock potential, bolster confidence, and forge meaningful relationships, whether helping a child articulate their first words or assisting a senior in regaining their independence.
This role invites you to work across the age spectrum in a dynamic environment that beautifully combines outpatient therapy with the flexibility of occasional inpatient care. If your passion lies in pediatric language enhancement, adult neurogenic communication challenges, or the intricacies of geriatric cognitive-linguistics, you'll find an enriching setting to flourish.
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized and observational assessment techniques.
Create bespoke treatment plans tailored to address immediate goals along with long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing requirements.
Deliver individual speech therapy sessions targeting communication skills, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure an integrated care approach.
Provide educational resources for patients and their families to support progress beyond clinical sessions.
Assist with select inpatient speech therapy evaluations and therapies, promoting consistent care throughout the healing journey.
Maintain detailed and precise documentation that is in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field by engaging in ongoing professional development and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if the ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for all age groups, with a comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to connect with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Ability to customize therapy approaches to embrace diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment coupled with creative problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation protocols.
Attractive compensation based on experience.
Flexible work schedules catering to both professional and personal lives.
Opportunities to hone skills in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) alongside holiday pay.
Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
Funding support for continuing education and professional growth.
A collaborative work environment focused on providing high-quality care and lifelong learning opportunities.
In this role, you won't just perform speech therapy — you will embody a community-inspired mission dedicated to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating memorable moments through the universal language of understanding.
You'll collaborate with professionals who support one another, in an environment that values teamwork over competition. Every patient has a unique journey; we trust you to help narrate their story.
Spokane effortlessly harmonizes the pulse of city life with the serenity of stunning natural landscapes. Lush parks and the serene Spokane River weave through the city, creating an idyllic backdrop for both relaxation and adventure.
Local farmers markets and gourmet cafes are bustling with friendly faces and innovative flavors, while community events foster an authentically warm atmosphere. Outdoor enthusiasts can indulge in a variety of activities, from hiking in the dramatic foothills to skiing in the snowy mountains nearby. Families gather for weekend explorations of the local attractions, offering a sense of unity and belonging.
Spokane radiates creativity — streets adorned with vibrant art installations, local theaters echoing with the sounds of talent, and events bringing together diverse communities. With no state income tax and a growing economy, it's an attractive locale for those seeking a fulfilling career and personal lifestyle.
Whether you're a fresh face in the profession or a veteran clinician seeking new challenges, Spokane provides a platform for growth, both personally and professionally.
We are in search of a Speech Language Pathologist guided by outcome-driven passions and a deep empathy. A visionary who interprets a quiet child's potential as a vibrant future ahead, and who listens to a stroke survivor's tentative speech and hears hope manifested.
You might be a pediatric expert seeking to expand into adult care or a neuro practitioner eager to weave in early intervention practices. Regardless of your expertise, if you are prepared to serve with compassion and lead with expertise, we would love to welcome you aboard.
If you recognize that speech encompasses so much more than mere sound and that therapy is about forging connections and trust, then this could mark the next exciting chapter of your career.
Join a community that champions connection and courage, and apply today to lend your voice to a team dedicated to helping others find theirs.
