Marketing and Communications Manager

SUMMARY The Marketing and Communications Manager is a grant funded responsible for leading the design and execution of the RHTP grant's statewide social marketing and communications strategy, most notably the rural 5-2-1-0 campaign promoting healthy eating, screen time, physical activity, and reduced sugar-sweetened beverage consumption. This position develops culturally relevant messaging for Indiana's 64 rural counties and drives visibility for the statewide coalition. The Manager reports to the State Director of Rural Health. RESPONSIBILITIES, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY DELIVERABLES Campaign Strategy & Execution Lead the design and execution of the rural 5-2-1-0 social marketing campaign communicating actionable guidance on healthy eating, screen time, physical activity, and sugar-sweetened beverages. Develop culturally and regionally appropriate messaging and materials for use across Indiana's 64 rural counties. Manage campaign timeline, creative assets, and distribution across digital, print, and community channels. Statewide Communications Execute communication strategies that support statewide coalition engagement and visibility, in partnership with the Coalitions and Partnerships Manager. Develop content highlighting program impact, partner spotlights, and participant stories (with appropriate consent) for grant reporting and public relations use. Coordinate with local Y marketing staff to ensure consistent branding and messaging across sites. Measurement & Reporting Track campaign reach, engagement, and effectiveness metrics; share results with the Evaluation Manager for inclusion in grant reports. Monitor trends in social marketing and public health communication best practices. Perform other duties/assignments as needed at the Indiana Alliance of YMCAs. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in marketing or communications, preferably in a public health or nonprofit setting. Experience developing and executing social marketing campaigns; familiarity with 5-2-1-0 or similar public health messaging frameworks a plus. Skilled in content creation, digital/social media management, graphic design tools, and campaign analytics. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate public health guidance into actionable, accessible messaging. Ability to tailor messaging for diverse rural communities across Indiana.
