Position Overview

As a Security Systems Technician, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair physical security systems for commercial customers in a fast-growing industry.

This is a hands-on field position requiring strong technical skills, professionalism, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have experience with:

• CCTV camera systems (analog and IP)
• Burglar alarm systems
• Access control systems
• Low-voltage wiring and cable termination
• Basic networking and troubleshooting

Key Responsibilities

• Install and service video surveillance, access control, and alarm systems
• Mount and position cameras, door hardware, and alarm components
• Plan, run, label, and terminate cabling including CAT6 and coaxial cable
• Install NVRs, low-voltage power supplies, and related hardware
• Troubleshoot low-voltage, networking, hardware, and software issues
• Configure and diagnose routers, switches, wireless systems, TCP/IP settings, POE, firewalls, and port forwarding
• Maintain inventory, tools, equipment, and company vehicle
• Complete accurate installation, service, and inventory documentation
• Use company-provided tablets/laptops for communication and reporting

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Kentucky driver’s license
• Ability to safely operate a company van or truck
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems required
• Linux experience is a plus
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals preferred
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Ability to travel locally and occasionally out of state
• Infrequent overnight travel may be required

Physical Requirements

This role is physically active and requires:

• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders daily
• Working indoors and outdoors in various environments
• Safely using ladders, lifts, hand tools, and power tools
• Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds regularly
• Retrieving and safely securing ladders from vehicle racks

 

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Overtime and weekend work as needed
