Safety Supervisor

Safety SupervisorThe Beaver Companies are looking for a Safety Supervisor to join our growing team. This position is responsible for providing safety support to construction employees at an assigned project site. Upon completion of the initial assignment, additional travel and project-based assignments throughout Ohio and surrounding states may be required based on business needs.Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities:Communicates with site supervisors, foremen, and employeesRecords and submits Safety & Training RecordsChecks for fire extinguishers, first aid, spill kits and so onReviews and audits 811-One Call markings, overhead/buried signs, electrical caution signs, barricades, work zones, road conditions and so onDocuments Safety Alerts, Near Misses, Accidents and Near-misses in the fieldConducts meetings such as training, toolbox talks and safety stand upReviews safety policies and monitors for complianceConducts training on correct procedure for air monitorsCreates and maintains site specific safety plansChecks crane daily's, monthly's, CCO's, assembly/disassemblyProvides employees with PPE needs and addresses safety concernsMaintains all posters for BWC, OSHA and Emergency ContactConducts checks for job-site cleanliness/organizationApply First Aid to employee injuries per company policiesReviews and audits Job Safety Analysis (JSA)Assesses job site hazards and is responsible for halting work until a problem or situation is corrected per the OSHA, MSHA, Customer or Beaver requirementsDemonstrates initiative and professionalismResponsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the companySkills & Requirements:Interest in construction and/or industrial safetyFamiliar with applicable health and safety requirements of all governing legislationExceptional communication and organizational skillsOSHA 30-hour certification - requiredCertified in First Aid & CPRMust be willing to attend additional training, as neededEducation & Experience:High school diploma or equivalentRefinery experience - preferredOSHA 500/510-hour certification - preferredCollege degree in Environmental Health and Safety or similar program - a plusMSHA Certification - a plusTraffic Control Certification - a plusTravel:This position is initially assigned to a specific project site.
