Senior Property Accountant

Salary/Hourly Rate $140k - $145k Position Overview The Senior Property Accountant will join a highly experienced accounting team and take ownership of the financial operations for a portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. The position provides strong visibility and the opportunity to make a lasting impact within a respected organization. Responsibilities Of The Senior Property Accountant
- Manage full-cycle property accounting for a portfolio of commercial and industrial assets.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including variance analysis.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including tenant billing and collections.
- Interpret and apply commercial lease terms, including rent escalations and CAM reconciliations.
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Support audit and tax processes through preparation of schedules and documentation.
- Partner with the Property Management and Operations teams to provide financial insights.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate or property accounting.
- Strong understanding of real estate financial transactions and lease structures.
- Experience with real estate accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, or Oracle.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Comfortable working in a stable, low-turnover, team-oriented environment.
- Background working with commercial and/or industrial real estate portfolios.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
