Location: Hawthorne, NJ | Hybrid/Remote Flexibility

Pfister Energy is seeking an experienced Solar & BESS Estimator to develop accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial solar, battery energy storage, and hybrid renewable energy projects. We're looking for a skilled EPC estimating professional with strong technical knowledge, proven cost estimating experience, and the ability to manage complex bids from initial design through preconstruction.

What You'll Do

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and proposals for commercial solar PV, BESS, solar-plus-storage, and EV charging projects ranging from 0.5 MW to 50 MW.
• Review construction drawings, RFPs, specifications, and electrical designs to complete accurate material takeoffs and project estimates.
• Estimate electrical, equipment, labor, subcontractor, and interconnection costs for behind-the-meter (BTM) and front-of-the-meter (FTM) projects.
• Manage vendor and subcontractor bids, pricing comparisons, scope reviews, and negotiations.
• Partner with Engineering, Development, and Construction teams on value engineering, project risks, and cost optimization.
• Support preconstruction planning, project schedules, EPC contract negotiations, and subcontractor selection.
• Maintain estimating databases, analyze actual project costs, and improve estimating accuracy.

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of estimating experience in solar EPC, BESS, electrical construction, or renewable energy projects.
• 3+ years of direct experience in a solar and/or BESS EPC environment.
• Proven experience preparing detailed construction estimates, material takeoffs, subcontractor bid evaluations, and competitive EPC proposals.
• Strong knowledge of commercial solar PV systems, battery storage, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and electrical construction costs .
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and project scope documents.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience managing complex estimating budgets and cost models.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, Engineering, and Construction teams.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; Procore, Smartsheet, and self-perform electrical estimating experience.
• Valid driver's license.
