Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides advanced emergency nursing care in a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department, ensuring prompt and effective treatment of critically ill and injured patients during on-call, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions rapidly upon arrival and determine priority of care.
• Administer medications and interventions following established protocols and physician orders.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, managing dysrhythmias effectively.
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC EMR and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to coordinate patient treatment plans and ensure timely interventions.
• Adhere to infection control and safety policies, including completion of required certifications prior to start.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid State RN license and active MI license by start date.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of Level I trauma emergency nursing experience.
• Maintain current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIH, and TNCC (ENPC preferred).
• Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC charting and trauma care.
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration preferred.
• Willing to work 3 weekends per 4-week schedule and recognize high patient ratios.
