Laboratory Technologist - Evenings with Rotating Weekends

This is a 13-week contract position.

Evenings with rotating weekends; Day shift from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.

The Laboratory Technologist (MLT or MT) works under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, performing laboratory tests and accurately reporting results to physicians for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Responsibilities include assisting in laboratory operations, quality assurance programs, and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests in various areas such as hematology, immunology, bacteriology, and routine chemistry.
• Conduct phlebotomies, including arterial puncture and venipunctures, applying age-specific criteria.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments according to established protocols.
• Ensure quality control, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
• Prepare and maintain necessary reagent supplies for tests.
• Validate and report test results accurately and timely.
• Assist in the development of laboratory policy and procedural manuals.
• Participate in the orientation and teaching of students and new employees.
• Follow all safety practices and ensure compliance with exposure control plans.
• Promote effective teamwork and work collaboratively across departments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
• Certification or eligibility as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician is required.
• Strong knowledge of medical technology principles, methods, and equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
