Survey Technician (Entry Level)Build the Future with Landmark Excavating

Landmark Excavating is looking for a motivated, dependable Survey Technician to join our growing survey team. If you enjoy working outdoors, solving problems, using technology, and being part of heavy civil construction projects, this is an excellent opportunity to start a long-term career.

No previous surveying experience is required. We are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

As a Survey Technician, you will work alongside experienced survey professionals supporting excavation, utility, grading, and infrastructure projects throughout Utah. You'll gain hands-on experience with modern GPS equipment, total stations, drone technology, and construction layout while helping build roads, utilities, commercial developments, and public infrastructure.

• Assist survey crews with field layout, staking, and data collection.
• Set hubs, stakes, monuments, control points, and grade markers.
• Operate and care for GPS equipment, total stations, data collectors, and survey accessories.
• Assist with drone surveys, site calibrations, and construction layout.
• Verify measurements and collect accurate field data.
• Maintain survey equipment and company vehicles.
• Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field crews.
• Follow all Landmark safety policies and procedures.
• Perform additional field support duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Dependable with excellent attendance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Construction, outdoor labor, surveying, GPS, drone, or equipment experience is helpful but not required.

• Starting pay: $20-$24 per hour , depending on experience.
