About the Role
As Clinical Director, you will provide leadership for clinical operations while remaining connected to the work that matters most our clients, our clinicians, and the quality of the services we provide.
You will lead and support clinical teams, provide supervision and mentorship, oversee clinical quality, and partner with organizational leadership to strengthen programs and improve outcomes.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will have a 40% Direct Clinical Contact expectation, allowing you to maintain a connection to clinical practice while also leading your team and managing program responsibilities.
What You'll Do
Lead Clinical Services
Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and direction for assigned programs and teams.
Support high-quality, consistent, evidence-based clinical services.
Manage caseloads, staffing, clinical workflows, and program implementation.
Provide individual and group therapy, assessments, intakes, screenings, and other clinical services as appropriate.
Support clinicians with complex cases and clinical decision-making.
Identify opportunities to improve how services are delivered and how clients are supported.
Develop People
Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and guidance to licensed and pre-licensed clinicians, trainees, and students.
Build a strong, collaborative, and accountable clinical team.
Help clinicians grow their skills and advance professionally.
Facilitate team meetings, case consultation, and clinical training.
Support staff in meeting licensure, certification, and professional development goals.
Improve Programs
Identify opportunities to strengthen clinical programs and services.
Partner with leadership on new initiatives, program development, and expansion.
Monitor clinical quality and program performance.
Use data and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits as needed.
Build Relationships
Develop positive relationships with referral sources, community partners, courts, probation and
parole professionals, and other stakeholders.
Represent the organization with professionalism and credibility.
Work collaboratively across clinical and operational teams to solve problems and achieve shared goals.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a leader who is clinically strong, people-focused, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership.
You should bring:
Master's or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field.
Current California clinical license through the BBS or Board of Psychology (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Ph.D., or Psy.D.).
At least 8 years of clinical experience.
At least 6 years of clinical leadership, administrative, or management experience.
Experience providing clinical supervision or eligibility to provide board-level supervision.
Strong clinical judgment and the ability to support clinicians working with complex clients and situations.
Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities.
Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other evidence-based treatment approaches.
A commitment to ethical, trauma-informed, and client-centered care.
The ability to work independently while also being an effective member of a collaborative team.
Specialized Experience
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
Justice-involved or court-connected populations
Substance use treatment
Specialized sexual behavior treatment
Community behavioral health programs
Program development or quality improvement
CASOMB or SARATSO requirements
Evidence-based risk assessment and treatment planning
Clinical training and professional development
You do not need to check every box to be successful in this role. We are interested in experienced clinical leaders who bring strong judgment, leadership capability, and a genuine commitment to developing people and delivering excellent care.
A Role With Autonomy and Responsibilit y
The Clinical Director will have meaningful autonomy in managing clinical operations and supporting the team.
There will also be times when you may be the only staff member present in the office while providing direct client services or managing day-to-day clinical operations.
The ability to work independently, exercise sound clinical judgment, respond appropriately to unexpected situations, and maintain a safe and professional environment is an essential part of the role.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, making decisions, and knowing when to step in and lead.

Where applicable, you will also participate in CASOMB- specific training and maintain required professional certifications.
Work Environment
This is a full-time leadership position with a primarily on-site presence at assigned clinical locations.
The role may involve travel between locations and occasional travel to community or partner sites. Some flexibility in work hours may be required based on program and client needs.
You will work closely with clinicians, clients, organizational leaders, referral partners, and community stakeholders.
