Quality Improvement Specialist

Job Summary Supports QSE projects throughout the organization, including both clinical and non‑clinical areas, to accomplish measurable quality improvement. Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing processes and helps to develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable clinical quality improvement. Collects and analyzes process and quality data to initiate, develop, and recommend operational practices that focus on enhanced quality outcomes. Essential Functions Supports and drives improvement activities for accountable areas based on organizational priorities – project management, measurable deliverables, milestones, and data‑informed strategy. Serves as a liaison between various departments across the Corewell Health System, communicates, collaborates, and acts as a change agent to key stakeholders. Ensures continuity and coordination of services with appropriate utilization of resources. Drives continuous assessment and improvements using appropriate tools and methodology within the business. Applies improvement science to drive quality performance in regulatory, accreditation, and publicly‑reported programs. Analyzes, interprets and communicates benchmarked quality data and trends to identify opportunities and improve outcomes. Continuously develops quality improvement knowledge and skills for the organization. Supports strategic quality goal setting to influence strategic priorities. Supports compliance of accreditation/TJC for quality chapters. Qualifications – Required Associate’s Degree or equivalent healthcare related field. 2 years of relevant experience. Experience in quality improvement, performance improvement, project management, or a similar role. Qualifications – Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent healthcare related field. 1 year of relevant experience participating in improvement initiatives. Certification(s) such as IHI Open School, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or similar.
