Regional travel, travel outside the assigned territory, and overnight stays as needed The Opportunity American Bath Group is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to provide reliable in‑house repair coverage across the Boise market and assigned surrounding territory. You will diagnose and repair bathware products in occupied homes, active job sites, warehouses, and builder or plumbing environments—often without daily onsite supervision. This role is built for a skilled, self‑directed operator who takes pride in finish quality, solves the real problem rather than treating the symptom, and closes every service visit with complete documentation and a professional customer experience. Perform finish‑sensitive and structural repairs from preparation through final inspection, using the correct tools, materials, repair sequence, and quality checks. Diagnosis and repair decisions. Evaluate symptoms, identify root cause, distinguish product defects from installation or adjacent‑system issues, select the appropriate repair path, and elevate only when scope or complexity requires it. Territory execution. Plan and reprioritize your route, travel, service schedule, parts, materials, and customer commitments while supporting completion of standard work within the 14‑day service expectation. Tools, vehicle, and inventory. Safely operate the assigned vehicle, keep tools and repair materials organized, track inventory needs, and arrive prepared to complete the work. Customer environments. Protect floors, walls, fixtures, and surrounding spaces; maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; explain the work clearly; clean the area; and obtain customer sign‑off. Complete remote visibility. Use email, before‑and‑after photos, repair details, materials records, status updates, escalation notes, and customer confirmation so remote leaders and warranty partners can verify quality and closure. Safe field practices. Follow required PPE, power‑tool, chemical‑handling, respiratory‑protection, housekeeping, vehicle, and workspace‑control procedures. Stop and elevate when conditions are unsafe or outside authorization. What Success Looks Like Repairs are completed right the first time, with finish quality that meets the established standard and minimizes preventable callbacks. Service issues are diagnosed accurately, and the repair addresses the root cause— not just the visible symptom. The Boise territory is managed reliably with proactive scheduling, travel planning, material readiness, follow‑through, and timely communication. Standard work is closed within the expected 14‑day window whenever scope, parts, access, and travel conditions allow. Customers understand what was completed, the work area is protected and left clean, and required sign‑off is obtained. Each job has a clear, accurate, and timely record of diagnosis, work performed, photos, materials, status, and escalation activity. What You’ll Bring Demonstrated hands‑on repair craftsmanship in bathware, fiberglass or acrylic repair, refinishing, automotive or marine body work, plumbing repair, installation, maintenance, paint and surface repair, or another comparable trade. Practical experience with tools and processes such as sanding, buffing, fillers, coatings or paint, surface preparation, finish correction, structural repair, or related transferable methods. A repeatable troubleshooting approach and the ability to learn new products, materials, repair methods, and documentation standards. Experience independently managing a mobile route, territory, field‑service workload, installation schedule, maintenance assignment, or comparable self‑directed work. Professional customer‑service judgment, including workspace protection, expectation setting, difficult‑conversation management, cleanup, and service closure. Comfort using email, mobile photos, digital work records, and written status updates to keep a remote team informed. A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, subject to the company’s verification process. Ability and willingness to cover the assigned territory, travel outside it, stay overnight when required, and support the role’s typical 40‑50‑hour weekly operating reality. Ability to perform the role’s physical work, including kneeling, bending, reaching, handling tools and materials, lifting and carrying job‑related items, and working in tight spaces, with or without reasonable accommodation. Commitment to all required PPE, chemical‑handling, respiratory‑protection, vehicle, tool, and job‑site safety requirements. Any required medical evaluation or fit testing will be handled through the appropriate compliant process. Transferable Experience Is Welcome Direct bathware experience is valuable, but it is not required. Strong candidates may come from fiberglass or acrylic repair, automotive collision or paint and body work, marine repair, plumbing, appliance or equipment service, residential maintenance, installation, refinishing, construction punch work, or other finish‑sensitive repair environments. What matters most is credible evidence that you personally performed the work, used sound judgment, produced acceptable finish quality, learned new methods, and followed the job through to customer‑ready completion. The Work Environment Mobile, remote field role with limited daily onsite supervision. Work takes place in occupied homes, active job sites, warehouses, and builder or plumber environments. Travel time, customer availability, repair complexity, materials, weather, and service urgency can change the daily plan. Work may involve power tools, dust or fumes, repair chemicals, respirators, confined or tight work areas, lifting, kneeling, and extended driving. Professional appearance, careful workspace protection, disciplined cleanup, and calm customer communication are essential.
