Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Medical Surgical and Telemetry unit. The position involves providing high-quality patient care during night shifts.

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (EOW); 4 weekends in 6 weeks
• Holiday Requirements: 1 major holiday and 1 minor holiday per year
• Floating Requirements: As needed

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical Surgical & Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 37 (20 beds in one unit and 17 beds in another)
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA)
• Common Diagnoses: Medical Surgical patients
• Charge Nurse: Present on each shift; charge nurse does take an assignment
• Nurse Aids/Patient Care Techs: Yes, with assigned duties
• Respiratory Equipment: CPAP and High Flow; RNs must troubleshoot these devices
• Telemetry Monitor Techs: Available on the unit; RNs are required to read their own strips

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Ability to titrate drips, specifically heparin

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in our unit, you will be responsible for the following:

• Providing direct patient care to a diverse patient population
• Monitoring and assessing patient conditions
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participating in unit's quality improvement initiatives

Orientation and Training

• Unit-specific orientation consists of 1 to 2 shifts
• Ongoing training and professional development opportunities available

The standard scrub color for this unit is navy.
