POSITION SUMMARY The Director, Perioperative Intensive Training is responsible for delivering hands‑on, clinically focused training and support to ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) subscribed to the ASK Medacta initiative. This role works closely with the Senior Director to execute strategies that equip ASC leaders, clinical teams, and administrative staff with evidence‑based solutions for optimizing surgical outcomes, improving operational efficiency, and driving sustainable results. Key responsibilities include on‑site training in perioperative protocols, workflow optimization, and patient care pathways, while collaborating with sales and internal teams to ensure seamless implementation and customer satisfaction. This role also oversees the execution of the Patient Optimized Pathway (POP) strategy in the U.S., integrating digital outreach and application management to enhance patient and surgeon engagement, preoperative planning, and postoperative care. This position emphasizes empowering ASCs to address evolving healthcare demands through targeted education on areas such as patient selection/optimization, preoperative protocols, pain management, perioperative protocols, operating room efficiency, preoperative preparation and patient arrival, anesthesia and regional blocks, and postoperative care and discharge. QUALIFICATIONS Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, Health Sciences or a related clinical field. Master’s Degree highly encouraged. Experience Requirements: A minimum of 6+ years’ experience in a clinical role within the orthopedic industry, such as Physician Assistant, Physical Therapist, Nurse, or Senior Sales Representative with a strong clinical focus (in arthroplasty or perioperative care). Direct experience in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) or operating room settings preferred, including hands‑on involvement in patient care protocols and training delivery. Experience in medical device marketing, digital platform management, or patient outreach programs (similar to POP) is preferred to support integrated digital and clinical strategies. Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex clinical concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Strong collaboration and team building skills, particularly in cross‑functional and customer‑facing environments. Demonstrated leadership qualities in training and mentoring clinical teams. Proactive self‑starter with a clinical mindset for problem‑solving in real‑time settings. In‑depth knowledge of healthcare/ASC environments, medical device industry, and orthopedic procedures, including extensive operating room experience. Understanding of U.S. payment models specific to bundled payments in ASC settings is desirable. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple training sessions and projects simultaneously. Problem Solving/Decision Making - Independent, proactive judgment in adapting training to customer needs, resolving implementation challenges, and ensuring compliance with protocols. Considerable discretion in decision‑making involving training delivery and customer support. Proficiency in digital tools and platforms, including social media monitoring, content management, and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint at intermediate to advanced levels); creativity in developing educational resources and market research skills to benchmark digital applications like POP. Physical Requirements: Sitting: Extended periods at a desk or workstation and air travel. Standing and Walking: Occasional movement within the office as well as significant movement in support of educational sessions and sales support needs. Lifting and Carrying: Light to moderate lifting of office materials, surgical instrumentation and setup of clinical and sales training sessions. Additional tasks may require reaching, manual dexterity, and visual acuity. Institute/Education) to align training programs with overall initiative goals and customer needs. Facilitate dialogue and hands‑on support between local Medacta sales personnel and ASC customers to maximize adoption of evidence‑based solutions and drive revenue growth. Conduct needs assessments for subscribing ASCs, identify customized training opportunities, and develop tailored implementation plans to address pain points such as reimbursement, patient volume maintenance, facility limitations, and revenue cycle KPIs. Serve as a clinical expert and primary point of contact for training‑related inquiries, providing ongoing support and follow‑up to ensure successful protocol execution and customer satisfaction. Recruit and coordinate clinical subject matter experts (surgeons, nurses) to enhance training sessions and educational content. Establish and manage visitation sites at high‑performing ASCs to demonstrate best practices and promote company solutions. Perform consultative reviews with ASC customers post‑training to evaluate outcomes, measure improvements in operational efficiency and patient care, and recommend adjustments. Plan, organize, and implement ASC‑specific educational activities through the M.O.R.E. Institute including simulations, workshops, and continuing education programs.
