Cardiac Anesthesiologist

Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem is seeking a full-time, partnership-track anesthesiologist with fellowship training in cardiac anesthesiology to join their premier, physician-led private practice in the Lehigh Valley. The role involves providing comprehensive cardiac anesthesia services at the newly built Heart Hospital at the Anderson campus, as well as general anesthesiology care across St. Luke's University Health Network. Practice Info ASB provides anesthesia coverage across 13 inpatient hospitals and 3 ambulatory surgery centers within St. Luke's University Health Network Cardiac anesthesia practice is offered at the newly built Heart Hospital at the Anderson campus Annual case volume is projected to reach approximately 850 cases in the coming year Cardiac anesthesia team consists of six full-time fellowship-trained cardiac anesthesiologists providing direct care for cardiac surgical cases approximately 1.5-2 days per week Remaining clinical time is spent within the general anesthesiology pool Case mix includes orthopedics, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, urology, gynecology, ENT, vascular, and general surgery Responsibilities Provide direct care for cardiac surgical cases approximately 1.5-2 days per week Provide general anesthesiology care within the general anesthesiology pool Participate in routine coronary bypass and valve surgery, complex and emergent aortic surgery, LVAD implantation, and minimally invasive and structural heart procedures Compensation The average total annual compensation package is approximately $655,000 $501,000 base salary $80,000 from cardiac call Calls include a paid stipend as well as a call-in bonus of $1000 for non-pump cases and $2000 for pump cases and an hourly rate while in the hospital Benefits $70,000 employer-funded 401(k) contribution $3,000 CME allowance $1,650 employer-funded HRA $100,000 sign-on bonus $10,000 relocation assistance $2,000/month residency/fellowship stipend Blue Cross Health Insurance Full reimbursement for all licensing and board fees $500/month vehicle stipend for travel between campuses $80/month cellphone stipend 8 weeks of paid vacation and 5 paid sick days annually One-time equity buy-in of $2,500 Shift & Schedule Full-time Required call is strictly cardiac call, all home-based First call: 24-hour shift Second call: weekdays only, coverage until 7pm Voluntary additional shifts available for increased earning Weekday call frequency is approximately 6-8 per month Weekend call consists of 24-hour shifts covering Friday and Sunday with a post-call Monday or a 24-hour shift covering Saturday Weekend call frequency is approximately every sixth weekend Partnership vote at 18 months Partnership granted upon completion of two years of employment Qualifications Fellowship training in cardiac anesthesiology
