Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Rapid Response RN CVICU is a specialized nursing role responsible for providing acute care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU environment. This position emphasizes advanced cardiovascular and neuro-critical care, requiring skilled assessment and intervention.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients, including those on ventilators and with complex cardiovascular conditions.
• Administer medications, breathing treatments, and perform advanced procedures such as Swan Ganz catheterization and CRRT.
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech and communicate effectively during bedside shift reports.
• Respond promptly to patient emergencies and contribute to rapid response teams as needed.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including unit-specific guidelines and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in ICU and neuro ICU settings.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with 36 months of nursing experience, including at least one year in ICU.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, especially in facilities utilizing Meditech.
• Proficiency in reading telemetry strips and managing ventilated patients.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required.
• Demonstrated ability to care for post-operative cardiac and neuro patients with complex needs.
• BSN and additional certifications such as TNCC are preferred.
