Position Summary We are seeking a Copy Editor to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of our healthcare communications. In this role, you will review, refine, and fact-check content across digital and print channels, ensuring all materials meet our editorial standards and gain approval through Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) processes. The ideal candidate has a keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity in every piece of content. Key Responsibilities Technical Expertise Assists with organizing claims and maintaining brand style guidelines across multiple accounts Reviews and refines content for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, compliance, style consistency, and references Performs detailed proof reviews across digital and print materials (emails, IVAs, websites, brochures, etc.) Helps rewrite and update in accordance with brand guidelines for multiple accounts Conducts thorough fact-checks of all claims and references to ensure medical and scientific accuracy in alignment with brand guidelines and MLR requirements Consistently manages content across multiple brand pieces Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail by thoroughly executing work with accuracy, completeness, and consistency Client-Centric Collaborates seamlessly with internal and client teams to ensure timely, precise, and compliant execution of all deliverables Team Collaboration and Ownership Acts as a trusted contributor, fostering open communication and collaborative problem-solving Supports clarity of vision and alignment within the editorial team Demonstrates accountability through proactive follow‑up and reliability in meeting shared goals Communication Offers valuable counsel and responds promptly to feedback, fostering trust Ensures organized and responsive communication, enhancing client satisfaction Drives success through effective communication and management Collaboration Communicates effectively across teams, fostering collaboration Values diverse perspectives, promoting inclusivity Demonstrates accountability, follows through on commitments, and ensures transparency on project status and priorities Updates team on project status regularly and ensures transparent communication and alignment Critical Thinking Applies sound judgment and critical thinking to complex editorial challenges, incorporating trends and feedback to deliver fresh, effective solutions Encourages creativity, adaptability, and innovation within a regulated environment Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or another writing‑intensive field preferred 3 years preferred experience working in advertising, marketing, or a related field Experience within pharmaceutical and/or healthcare marketing preferred Experience with Veeva Vault platform (PromoMats and CRM) preferred Experience reviewing documents for accuracy, style consistency, punctuation, and references Required Skills Demonstrates an enthusiastic appetite for continuous learning and a readiness to engage in diverse projects across multiple therapeutic areas and formats Thrives in a team‑oriented environment, while also able to work independently and meet self‑directed deadlines Brings exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain a methodical process and high standard of excellence across multiple projects and tight timelines Applies critical thinking to evaluate content, identify inconsistencies, and propose thoughtful editorial solutions that enhance both quality and efficiency Displays agility, determination, and a proactive mindset toward acquiring knowledge and honing skills Knowledge of AMA editorial style guidelines preferred Understanding of FDA regulations and their implications on the MLR submission process Proficient in Microsoft Office At Deerfield, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic work environment, so if this role and our culture excite you, we encourage you to apply even if you do not have the exact experience or meet all requirements outlined in this job posting.
