Job Summary

This role is accountable to the Head, Clinical Supply & Business Management - Global Clinical Supply Operations (GCSO) to drive the vision and implementation of the Business Management function in the US (DSI) through close collaboration with Global Business Management colleagues in Japan and Germany. Responsibilities include but are not limited to GCSO budget development with GCSO Program Management and quarterly tracking and reporting to Finance Business Partners and other stakeholders within the Technology Unit (TECHU). Additionally, the role will serve as a key member of the Global Clinical Supply Committee (GCSOC), providing the Project Management Office (PMO) support in organizing and facilitating Committee meetings and ensuring progress is achieved with other Committee members continuously. Business Management will also work closely between GCSO Program Management, Supply Planning & Logistics (SP&L) and R&D Procurement to understand the outsourcing needs, confirming the available budget and maximizing the value through negotiations with relevant stakeholders. Communicates regularly within Business Management in Japan and Germany to help standardize and streamline quarterly business updates and supports the development of new business objectives for the upcoming Fiscal Year. Drive Continuous Improvement projects following endorsement at the Global Continuous Improvement Forum (GCIF) with a focus on financial management and global systems improvement. Additionally, supports internal Finance and Compliance audits, sharing key learnings and improvement opportunities within GCSO as well as the broader Supply Chain Management function.

Responsibilities

• Provides financial reporting support for over 170 clinical studies, including consolidation of spend projections, reporting of actual spend, tax/VAT exposure, and insurance.
• Partners closely with Program Managers, who are accountable for detailed study-level financial analysis, variance assessment, and forward planning.
• This role focuses on coordinating inputs, ensuring consistency in reporting, and supporting execution of financial processes.
• Contributes to regional insurance standards and supports centralized financial planning assumptions and budget development across studies.
• Program Management Office (PMO) responsibilities for GCSOC: Develop concise, detailed plans that consist of major deliverables, timing, resource allocation, project updates and issue resolution. Additionally, establishes dashboards for GCSOC objectives (Project and Infrastructure) that continuously monitor the progress of key deliverables, and makes recommendations for course correction where necessary.
• Collaborates within Business Management to optimize meeting conduct and cadence for the GCSOC members.
• Drive process efficiency and productivity improvements efforts within the function.
• Responsible for continuous improvement tasks from project endorsement to implementation.
• Evaluates the areas for improvement across Business Management and the broader GCSO organization with regional considerations and develops an improvement plan that supports optimized financial lifecycle management activities.
• Establishes business processes in preparation for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation.
• Supports GCSO Management in tracking and reporting the approved FTE and contract resource plan regionally and in collaboration with global partners in Business Management.
• Manage contractual negotiations with key vendors in close collaboration with R&D Procurement, ensuring maximum value is derived when outsourcing GCSO activities. Additionally, fully manages contract process cross-functionally for spend up to $100K USD.
• Collaborates within Business Management to foster GCSO's organizational culture and build a work environment with a high degree of psychological safety.

Qualifications Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field required Master's Degree preferred

Experience Qualifications
7 or More Years experience in business operations, finance, or other related area required
global pharmaceutical company industry preferred
project management experience preferred

Travel Requirements
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Domestic and international travel required

Salary Range:

USD$162,400.00 - USD$243,600.00
