At the direction of a the Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP) who is an ABR certified Medical Physicist (B/C), the medical physicist assistant (MPA), will provide a supporting role for the QMP. The tasks involved include measuring radiation dose, operating a radiation producing equipment and assist in clinical workflow template development. All work performed by the MPA will be reviewed and signed off by a QMP. The QMP has overall responsibility in ensuring that radiation producing equipment and software operates safely and accurately. The MPA is a recent graduate from a CAMPEP certified graduate degree or certificate in Medical Physics but has not completed clinical residency training.

The MPA will assist the QMP in ensuring that QA equipment are functioning properly. Experience with operation of QA devices, QA data analysis and creation of spreadsheets are required.
