RN - Palliative Care

Registered Nurse (RN)

This position is for a Registered Nurse with experience in palliative care or acute medical/surgical settings. The role involves providing comprehensive symptom management for patients at the end of life and supporting families in crisis.

This position requires flexibility with a rotating schedule of 36 or 48 hours, including day, evening, and night shifts. Weekend and holiday availability, as well as on-call duties as needed, are also required.

• Provide compassionate care to patients (ages 18 and up) with intensive symptom management needs.
• Utilize strong IV and wound care skills to ensure quality patient care.
• Conduct thorough assessments to advocate for patients who cannot communicate their needs.
• Manage patients with complex medical needs and support their families during difficult times.
• Care for general medicine overflow as needed.

• Active New York State RN License.
• A minimum of two years of recent experience in palliative care or acute medical/surgical nursing.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification is highly desired.

• Excellent assessment skills for effective patient advocacy.
• Ability to manage complex patient situations and family dynamics.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Compassionate approach to end-of-life care.
